The Hypocrites
Generally people know the meaning of hypocrisy. However, not many people can identify the hypocrites in the society. The result is that many people are hypocrites without knowing it. The hypocrites include:
- Those who carry the Bible about, without reading it.
- Those who read the Bible, but do not do what is stated in it.
- Those who read, but misinterpret the scriptures.
- Those who accept the New Testament, but reject the Old Testament. And vice versa.
- Those who hear preaching and sermons, but do not comply rightly.
- Those who claim to be believers, but do not practice the laws, times and festivals of God.
- Those who claim to be born again, but are not. Many are in this category. Being born again can take weeks, months, years or several reincarnations (lifetimes).
- Those who rush to the ministers of God in their times of need, but turn their back on God as soon as their prayer is answered. Such people usually come for prophecy, revelations, healing, deliverance, breakthrough, fruit of the womb, etc, but are not ready to worship and serve God.
- Believers and the born again, who are everyday clamouring for and pursuing all forms of worldliness. Many are in this category because they are everyday entertaining themselves with home videos of rape, violence, robbery, fraud, idolatry, immorality, etc.
- The general public who are quick to say or advise the fear of God, but do not fear Him. People do not fear God because they wear shoes into the churches and holy places, allow women in menstruation into the churches and holy places, practice a set of Ten Commandments that is forged, etc.
- Religions leaders, who are not spiritually awake, enlightened and experienced. Therefore, they misinterpret the scriptures, deceive themselves and mislead the ignorant masses into the hellfire.
- Those who claim Abraham’s blessings without fulfilling the necessary conditions for the blessings.
- Ministers of God, who do not study spiritual science, and therefore make themselves blind leaders.
- Church members, who are interested in, but not zealous about, the things of God.
- Civic leaders who do not value or consider the word of God, in their decisions and policies.
- Etc.
For there are many insubordinate, both idle talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, 11 whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole households, teaching things which they ought not, for the sake of dishonest gain. 12 One of them, a prophet of their own, said, "Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons." 13 This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith, 14 not giving heed to Jewish fables and commandments of men who turn from the truth. 15 To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled. 16 They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.
